Mission​
​
The Indian Media & Entertainment industry has always underestimated India’s intelligence and ambition. From films to podcasts, its impulse has always been to serve the lowest common denominator.
​
Therefore, unfortunately, the new emergent Indian - hungry to learn, grow intellectually and materially - finds himself alienated by this ecosystem. His media diet is disproportionately non-Indian and Western.
​
A nation cannot grow creatively and culturally by alienating its best and most ambitious minds. There is no reason why a highly globalized population like ours cannot create media that captures the imagination of the world.
​
I want to create and enable creation of art and media that makes the best Indians proud. Something that is original to us, not a first-copy of the West, and something that deeply reflects our past, present and guides our future.
​
I believe that it is not only a worthy creative project, but also an attractive business opportunity. This new, emergent Indian is also India’s emerging consumer class. It drives 90% of India’s consumption. Getting a piece of their mind is getting a piece of their wallet.
​
My long-term aim is to own, either wholly or partly, the content I create. For now, I own a newsletter, a podcast and a few short-films. Once I have enough capital, I want to fund other creators like me, and more ambitious formats like films and shows.
